Staff can only conduct an orderly and safe evacuation of building occupants if they have received correct and current training to do this. In an occupancy of this type, patrons will need to be given clear and authoritative direction in the event of a fire or other emergency.


Section 12 of the Fire Regulation states – The occupier of a building must keep in the building a record of fire instruction, containing the following details in relation to each occasion that instructions were given to workers in the building under section 11 of the regulation.  This section requires that training must be given to staff members by a competent person within 30 days of commencement of employment.

 

The record of fire instruction as outlined in Section 12 of the Fire Regulation must include;

  • the date;

  • the instructor’s name

  • a brief description of which workers were instructed, for example by reference to their occupation or location in the building

  • a brief description of the instructions given

Schedule of Training
All training will be conducted on premises nominated and supplied by the client, with all required training equipment supplied by BARS Training Australia.  The cost of this 90 minute session includes the cost of all handouts and Statement of Attendance issued by BARS Training Australia and covers the following;

  • Fire extinguisher operation

  • Fire hose reel operation

  • Fire blanket use

  • Building fire safety

  • Emergency equipment

  • Emergency response procedures

OPTION 1

This training can be conducted at the completion of the responsible service of alcohol program (RSA) or the responsible gambling services (RSG) at an additional cost of $15 (including GST) per participant.

 

All training will be conducted on premises nominated and supplied by the client, with all required training equipment supplied by BARS Training Australia with the maximum of 20 participants per course.

 

Note: The fee is due prior to course completion.

 

OPTION 2

All training will be conducted on premises nominated and supplied by the client, with all required training equipment supplied by BARS Training Australia with the maximum of 20 participants per course.

$35 per participant (all inclusive)

 

All training will be conducted in an appropriate training venue throughout Queensland with all required training equipment supplied by BARS Training Australia as published on the BARS Training website.

 

Note: The fee is to be paid prior to course completion.
