BARS Training Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (Provider 32061), approved to provide training and assessment throughout Queensland specialising in courses within the security and hospitality industries.

BARS Training Australia is an approved pre-qualified supplier to the Queensland Government under the Department of Education, Training and Employment Certificate 3 Guarantee funding program. This program provides subsidies for Queensland residents to obtain a range of nationally recognised qualifications and includes the qualification of Certificate III in Security Operations. To support the objectives of this funding in gaining employment or career advancement for our students, BARS Training Australia is offering a number of courses in Security Operations to ensure the best Queensland security licensing outcomes for our students who successfully complete their chosen course.

An online student application is required to be submitted prior to enrolment in any full security qualification. This allows our staff to work with the student to accurately assess their suitability for the selected course, assist with any recognition of prior learning entitlements and eligibility for the Certificate 3 Guarantee.

Funding also maybe available through the Queensland Government's certificate 3 Guarantee Boost, assisting unemployed jobseekers or those at risk of unemployment to link with training opportunities to help with finding a job or stay in employment. (view website)

NOTE - BARS Training Australia is NOT registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Student (CRICOS). The Office of Fair Trading Queensland will not accept a training certificate issued to a student visa holder unless such training is conducted by a CRICOS approved provider. If you are the holder of a Student Visa you will not be enrolled to commence studies with BARS Training Australia.

CPP30411 - Certificate III in Security Operations (Option A)

Option A - This course has been designed for students that are entering the Queensland security industry that have demonstrated the required volume of learning (experience) to progress into this intensive Certificate III training program. The successful completion of this qualification supports a Queensland license application for categories of security (unarmed), security (monitoring), crowd controller and bodyguard.

CPP30411 - Certificate III in Security Operations (Option B)

Option B - This course has been designed for students that currently have a Queensland crowd controllers license and have demonstrated the required volume of learning (experience) to progress into this intensive Certificate III training program.

The course has been design for those current security providers that wish to achieve career advancement by increasing their skills and knowledge, as well as supporting a license application for additional categories on their license of bodyguard and cash-in-transit.

Note: This course also includes the three units that current crowd controller / Bodyguard must complete every three years in Queensland (Refresher Training) to maintain those categories on their Queensland Class 1 license.

Workbook Course

These courses are workbook courses that are separated into two parts that deal with the theory and practical skills required in the Queensland security industry.

NOTE - The number of students per session will be restricted to ensure the best learning outcome possible for those who attend.

 

Part A - A self paced correspondence course with on-line tutorial support available to assist participants gain the underpinning knowledge necessary to successfully complete Part B .  Once course fees have been received the enrolled participant will be forwarded all course material at least 10 days prior to the face-to-face component along with a welcome link that gives the participant access on-line tutorial support and additional resources.

 

Part B - The face-to-face component allows participants to take part in role-plays, scenario enactments, group discussions and demonstrations that create an excellent and variety based learning environment.

 

Pre-requisites

 

Participants should be eligible to hold a security license and should contact the Office of Fair Trading on 13QGOV (13 74 68) or follow this link to the Office of Fair Trading website to confirm their eligibility prior to commencing the course. (view website)

All participants should also have basic language, literacy and numeracy skills and are required to identify if they require language, literacy and numeracy support prior to enrolment by completing a short language, literacy and numeracy examination.

Student Co-Contribution Fees

BARS Training Australia will administer a Student Co-Contribution fee of $39 for concessional students or a Student Co-Contribution fee of $49 for non-concessional students for the course. The administration fee change includes all materials and will be collected from the applicant on submission of a course application. BARS Training Australia will retain any administration fee collected which will be fully refunded or transferred to a future course should a course application fail.

Funding Issues

To be eligible for funding under the Queensland Government's Certificate 3 Guarantee Program you have to aged 15 years or above and be a permanent resident of Queensland. You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or temporary resident with the necessary work visa on a pathway to permanent residency. You must not hold a full certificate III or higher qualification. (view program information)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgment of skills and knowledge held by an individual as a result of formal training, work experience and /or life experience. If you believe that you already possess some or all of the learning outcomes contained in this course and you can demonstrate current competency, then you can apply for RPL.  To register for RPL you simply contact BARS Training Australia on (07) 5529 0834 during office hours or alternatively complete your online application indicating that you wish to apply for RPL and one of our staff will contact you.  

Enrolments

Enrolment occurs through online registration and payment of course fees.  Your details are captured and stored securely, with the results of your training being linked to this enrolment information.

Refunds

All requests for refunds are to be made in writing on a Refund Request this form that needs to be accompanied by supporting documentation where applicable. This form can be obtained by contacting the BARS Training Australia on (07) 5529 0834 during office hours.

NOTE
